Most of us do not think about fire extinguishers all that often. Perhaps not even at all. Especially if you have come from rentals, there are always fire extinguishers around. This is because landlords are required to keep them on all their properties. So, it is easy to see why we can take having them around for granted. When you get into your own home, however, it is important to make sure you buy your own fire extinguisher to keep in the house. Afterall, electrical and kitchen fires are all too common and having a fire extinguisher can prove critical.

Ladder

Another item that comes in handy when you own a home is a ladder. A ladder can make once difficult tasks infinitely easier. Things like cleaning gutters, changing light bulbs, or hanging curtains are all simple tasks with the help of a ladder.

Emergency Kit

Something that many homeowners forget to stock is an emergency kit. Disasters of any sort are not subjects we like to think about. But the uncomfortable truth is that disasters, whether natural or otherwise, are a real possibility no matter what region you live in. A ratchet set is essential to helping along small and large projects. And a crowbar can be useful for a variety of things from removing nails to sheetrock.
